The piece is constructed from brass, copper, bronze, and nickel. The brass skyline is embossed with rays of sunshine. The piece features 4 levels of adobe structures. The uppermost layer is brushed nickel. It represents the white-washed St. Joseph Church on the horizon of the pueblo.
The next two layers include various adobe homes. They are made from copper. Below those two layers is a layer that is partly nickel and partly bronze. It represents homes, a copper “Orno” (outdoor oven) for baking, a nickel wall and dirt ramp going to the ground level. The forefront includes Adobe homes made from brass. Between layers are several bushes and a large tree made from copper foil. I have used stamping, piercing, and grinding techniques for details. I used oxidation for shading.
The result is a warm, cozy, and welcoming feel for this view of the pueblo which is bathed in muted sunlight. Size: 8” X 10” metal collage in a 11” X 14” in Custom Shadowbox Frame
