Autumn Earth Presence

"You wouldn't know it by looking, but this was painted in late winter. The leaves on the trees, the ground cover, everything was brownish gray and boring! I improvised and added some color making it look like fall. I like the way the tree in the foreground takes up a lot of the picture plane and the adobe house peeks through the branches. I began the painting using brushes and finished with palette knife strokes."

Makes a diptych with Adobe and Autumn Sun (sold separately).

Ronnie’s signature style alternates between textural brushstrokes and heavy impasto marks created with palette knives. Painting primarily en plein air alla prima, she focuses on balancing harmonious shapes and light-to-shadow values to give her work depth.
