Collection: Renée Marz Mullis
After an accomplished career in public education and administration, Renee’ Marz Mullis turned her lifelong passion for art and graphic design into a full-time pursuit. Originally from Albuquerque and now based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, she works from a studio nestled in the shadow of the Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monument.
Renee’ works primarily in dry pastel, creating luminous, representational pieces that explore the transformative power of light and color. Her subjects—ranging from still lifes and native flora to wildlife and sweeping southwestern landscapes—reveal a fascination with how light animates both the familiar and the overlooked. Although she resists being called a “colorist,” her work demonstrates a deep sensitivity to the subtleties of hue and value, capturing moments where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
Her artistry has earned recognition at state, national, and international levels. Renee’ holds Signature and Distinguished Artist status in several pastel societies, is a Master Circle member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS), and has achieved Master Status with the Pastel Society of America (PSA).
