McDevitt, Sally

Sally McDevitt is an artist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, inspired by the light, color, and wide open landscapes of the Southwest. She works in oils and acrylics, creating representational landscapes that reflect the region’s expansive skies, distinctive rock formations, and desert terrain.

Painting has been part of McDevitt’s life for many years. What began as creating artwork for friends and family gradually grew into a deeper commitment to developing her craft. In retirement, she turned her focus to exhibiting her paintings in regional galleries.

Her landscapes aim to convey the feeling of being outdoors in New Mexico — the stillness of open space, the play of light across stone, and the subtle shifts of color that define the high desert.
