Gebhart, Ed

I am a professional artist living in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1979. I received my BBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. I began studying art in the early 1970s, learning drawing, charcoal, watercolors, pastels, oils, and acrylics.  My move to New Mexico rekindled my desire to pursue art as I discovered the area’s captivating landscapes as well as the state’s diverse cultures. My primary medium is acrylics and my passion for art comes through in the rich vibrancy of color in each of my paintings.

In January of 2020, I was invited to exhibit my work at Weem’s Gallery. In 2021, I was successfully juried to participate in the Ruidoso Arts Festival, where I received a second-place award in the category of oils/acrylics. In 2022 and 2023 I received second and third place awards at the Fine Arts Exhibit of the NM State Fair. And in 2025 I was voted the Peoples Choice Award at the Weem’s June art show.  My inspiration for my art comes from my desire to capture emotional connection through the simplicity and beauty of life.
