Collection: Stouffer, Dan

Born in Ohio and educated at the Ohio State University, Dan Stouffer spent his early career in book design and production management at places like the University of New Mexico Press. Lured by the mystique of the New Mexico landscape, he began painting and transitioned to a full-time artist in 1979.

Since then, Stouffer has built an impressive resume, exhibiting work in several museums and securing corporate collections nationwide. He has earned over 60 national and regional awards in prominent competitions such as Watercolor USA and Arts for the Parks, where his work—often focusing on subjects like the Grand Canyon and Grand Tetons—was accepted eight times into the "Top 100" traveling show.

Stouffer holds memberships in esteemed organizations like the Watercolor USA Honor Society, is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, and has been featured in publications including Southwest Art. He was designated an "Albuquerque Local Treasure" in 2010 and named "Top Artist" in the Albuquerque Journal's Readers’ Choice Awards for several consecutive years. He currently resides in Bosque Farms, New Mexico.
