Diamondback Designs
Judy is an Albuquerque jewelry designer. She developed an interest in travel & different cultures when she moved from place to place as an Army Brat & later with her husband. She has lived in Europe three times & has visited countries in Europe, Asia, Africa & South America. Judy’s artistic activities began when she worked as an artist for a US Army community service club in Germany.
When she began to create jewelry in 1994, she was drawn to unusual & ethnic beads from other lands. These beads often have an interesting story to tell about the history of the region they are from & about the people who wear & use them.
Judy graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Biological Sciences. Her area of interest is wildlife conservation & endangered species.
Judy’s work is shown under the name of Diamondback Designs. Her jewelry is in a number of New Mexico art galleries & the gallery shops of the Smithsonian Institution’s Freer & Sackler Museums in Washington, DC.
